INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL FAIR AND COOPERATION EXCHANGE CONTINUES IN TASHKENT
Uzbekistan Industrialists Forum, carried out at the initiative of President Islam Karimov, aims to promote the real sector enterprises to provide free access to necessary raw materials and credit resources, facilitate the creation of market infrastructure to build and expand long-term business relationships based on intra and inter-sectoral cooperation.
Since this year the third fair and exchange is given an international status. This event is attended by representatives of over 650 foreign companies from 46 countries, including Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Korea, China, Poland, Russia, Turkey and other countries. They have something to look for at the stands of more than 360 domestic enterprises and companies of our country as potential customers for the most variety of products and services.
Leading industries of the republic and companies are displaying products on the manufacturing sectors. Processing of mineral resources, high technology, automotive, agricultural, electrical, chemical, pharmaceutical, light industry, food industry, building materials, printing, transport and transport engineering are widely represented at the fair.
To date, the presentation of a number of industries and enterprises took place, which had shown their technical and technological capabilities. They certainly helped participants to establish new and expand existing relationships between producers and consumers. Agreements were signed for the supply or purchase of materials, components and finished goods.
If last year the volume of the concluded agreements amounted to more than 1.4 trillion sums, then today this figure according to preliminary estimates have totaled 1.5 trillion sums.
All activities are conducted with the participation of specialists from ministries and departments, insurance companies, banks, organizations, specializing in the field of standardization and certification, which provide expert advice. (Source: National News Agency UzA)
KUWAIT WILL UPGRADE IRRIGATION, DRAINAGE NETWORKS IN UZBEKISTAN
Kuwait has singed a loan agreement with Uzbekistan to fund building and renovating irrigation and drainage networks.
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KAFED) said in a statement that the projects, to be launched in the districts of Syrdarya and Jizzakh, are aimed at increasing agricultural production, improving living conditions of the farmers in these regions and realizing regional food security.
The projects would renovate irrigation and drainage networks for areas as large as 222,000 hectares, and 210,000 hectares in the two districts.
The projects also include renovating irrigation pipes 347 kilometers long in Syrdarya, and a fully equipped plant with irrigation networks, electrical equipment, and sewage plants in Jizzakh.
The agreement was signed by the Uzbek First Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance, and the Deputy Director General Hashim Al-Woqaiyan. This is the fifth agreement signed with Uzbekistan. (Source: Uzreport Information Portal)
CHIRCHIK HOSTS EXHIBITION OF INDIVIDUAL HOUSING PROJECTS FOR RURAL POPULATION
Specialized exhibition of the projects of individual housing for rural population and construction materials is continuing in Chirchik, Tashkent region.
The forum participants can get acquainted with the projects of individual housing developed by the Qishloq Qurulish Loyiha institute and regional architecture and construction departments.
Besides, the visitors may learn about receiving preferential credits for the purchase of the houses, provided by the recently created Qishloq Qurilish Bank.
According to Mr. Azizkhon Saidov, director of the Tashkent regional branch of Qishloq Qurilish Invest engineering company, 60 new individual houses will be built in three districts of the region.
"Next year, we plan to commission more than 600 houses. Currently, the demands of the population in the new housing are being studied," he said.
Mrs. Ulugoy Omonova of the Qorakhitoy neighborhood said it was important that the presented projects take into consideration the rural conditions. "Cattle and poultry breeding are one of the main sources of income for the rural population, and this is also reflected in the projects," she said. (Source: Uzreport Information Portal)
HONEY FAIRS HELD IN TASHKENT
For the second time this year, honey fairs opened in the markets of the city of Tashkent. Bee keepers from Tashkent city and Tashkent region are participating in the honey fairs.
"The main goal of the fair is to provide the population with natural and high-quality honey," head of the Tashkent bee keepers association Mr. Homid Nekkadambayev told UzA. "Here you can buy various types of honey at low prices."
Besides, the buyers can receive various information at the fairs, he continued. For instance, one may find out how to choose high-quality honey.
According to specialists, honey contains more than 70% of microelements required for the human organism.
Nowadays, some 250 bee keepers are working in Tashkent, each of whom has 150 bee families on the average.
This year, more than 200 tons of honey has been prepared in Tashkent and Tashkent region.
The honey fairs will last until the end of October at Aviasozlar, Farhad, Alay and Yunusabad markets of Tashkent. (Source: National News Agency UzA)

TASHKENT MEDICAL ACADEMY HOSTS PUMPKIN FESTIVAL - REPORT
The human health depends not only on medical establishments, doctors and hereditary factors, but also on way of life and good nourishment, the report by the Uzbekistan National News Agency website said.
The notion advanced by Hippocrates that goes: “The food must serve as a medicine, and medicine – as a food”, also pursues such a very goal, according to the website.
Presence in the daily food ratio of the vegetables and fruits serves as an important factor in preventing the heart diseases, diabetes and obesity. One of such vegetables is pumpkin, the website wrote.
The pumpkin has health-friendly proteins, vitamins, ferments, salts and oils. As such the pumpkin is actively used in medicine as a diet food for children and the sick. The pumpkin peel, juice and even its seeds are good.
The basic medicinal qualities of the pumpkin, which is by the way one of the most ancient plants, is in its seeds, according to the report.
That was the main topic of the Pumpkin festival, which took place at the Tashkent Medical Academy. The teaching faculty, professors and students presented scientific and practical data on treatment qualities of the pumpkin.
They have also demonstrated visual tools and food prepared from various kinds of pumpkin.
Also, at the festival the students are reported to have demonstrated the theatrical performances, as well as sang songs and danced with adding more joy and fine mood to those gathered to the event. (Source: Jahon Information Agency)
SAMARKAND MEDICAL INSTITUTE HOSTS MEDICINE-RELATED EVENT
The Samarkand State Medical Institute hosted the International scientific-practical conference on the topic “New technologies in medicine: surgery, children’s surgery and radiology”, according to the report by the Uzbekistan National News Agency.
The event has been organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Grats Medical University of Austria, European Society of Cardiologists, the report has also said.
The leading scientists and specialists based in Uzbekistan, as well as those who have arrived from Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Russia and Kazakhstan participated at the forum.
“During the conference we have listened to the reports on surgery, in particular, on the innovations in children’s surgery, outstanding tasks of radiology, as well as modern methods of diagnostics and treatment,” says president of the European society of cardiologists Reiner Reanmuller.
We should also note the significant work being undertaken in Uzbekistan in the sphere of healthcare that has allowed the delegates to the event to exchange views.
Those who took a floor at the conference are reported to have introduced proposals and recommendations to effectively use the newest technologies in medicine, establish the diagnostics centers and provide them with qualified cadres. (Source: Jahon Information Agency)
WINNERS OF FUND FORUM AND MEHR NURI GRANT PROGRAMS AWARDED
Award ceremony of the winners of the Fund Forum's and Mehr Nuri Foundation's grant programs was held on 19 October at the Youth Creativity Palace.
244 winners of the Educational Grants Program, Program of Scholarships for the Gifted Students and Sport Grants Program were announced during the event.
For five years, the Fund Forum jointly with Mehr Nuri Foundation carries out contests and grant programs among young people. On the basis of these projects most gifted young people receive financial support.
This year, approximately 3000 young competitors applied for participation in the programs. The best of them were selected and received material and intellectual support. All of them study in various universities across the country.
113 students have become winners of the Educational Grants Program this year.
About fifteen hundred applications were collected this year for the Program of Scholarships for the Gifted Students. After selection by the competent jury and interviews 111 participants were awarded scholarships.
Winners of the Sport Grants Program were also identified this day. This year 20 winners entered the stage. Many of them are winners of Asian and World Championships in various sports. Majority of the winners are trained in Forum Junior Sport and Champion's Forum sports complexes.
The ceremony was live broadcasted in all regions of the country. Activists of the Youth Initiative Centers from 12 regions and Karakalpakstan Republic could not only see their mates from Tashkent Youth Creativity Palace but also communicate with each other through the videoconference.
The guys offered new projects, shared news, exchanged impressions. For example, Jizzakh activists developed a training application for children, in Andijan there is work done to establish a scientific and technical youth club, burglar laser system has been created in Urgench.
