Active preparation for season continues

The employees of public utilities system in Karakalpakstan are working on the preparing for winter.

Within the frame of presidential decree “On measures to provide training for sectors of the economy to a sustainable operation in autumn-winter period 2010/2011” the center developed and consistently implemented a plan of specific actions.

Open Joint Stock Company Kommunal Issiklik Markazi provides heat to 43 elementary schools, eight preschools, one house of mercy, 14 professional colleges and academic high schools, three high schools, 22 hospitals, 46 enterprises and organizations, 94 multi-storey houses in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. At these sites are 64 boiler houses, 30 of which are located in the city of Nukus.

All of them are prepared for the upcoming season, said the head of economic planning of the company Turabek Zaetdinov. Earlier this year, there was a plan to address deficiencies identified in the heating system. According to the plan for the overhaul of boilers and heating systems 206.3 million soums were allocated.

Four boilers and heat networks stretching over a kilometer were overhauled and 40 boilers and hating backbone with the length of 3.2 kilometers were repaired as well as over four kilometers of pipes were insulated.

In order to reduce the cost of thermal energy delivered to consumers and business continuity of the system, the program was developed for 2010-2015, according to which 24 old boilers will be rebuilt and over 27 kilometers of main network will be replaced. (Source: UzA News Agency)

Samarkand Blood Transfusion Center to serve neighboring regions

Starting from 2011, the Samarkand Regional Blood Transfusion Center will provide services to the public and healthcare facilities of nearby areas.

In connection with these, the activities are carried out to expand the scope of the center, said the chief doctor of the facility Rofi Aliyev.

The building of the center was reconstructed, its roof communication system were renovated, modern doors and window frames were installed.

“The cabinets for the reception of donors and services as well as the laboratory are now in line with international standards,” Aliyev added. “The center is equipped with modern medical and laboratory equipment and furniture. It all contributed to the improvement in the quality of services provided by the facility.”

Installation of modern medical technology accelerated the process of determining the composition of blood. The laboratories provide an opportunity for the 36 types of tests, contributing to accurate diagnosis of many diseases.

The process of obtaining the donor blood, its storage and delivery to health facilities had improved at the center. Fourteen departments of blood transfusion in the cities and districts of Samarkand region are equipped with modern cooling and freezing devices.

Along with the use of advanced technologies, the monthly training seminars are held at the center on innovations in healcare, advanced treatments and equipment for the staff. (Source: UzReport Agency)

Amnesty act implemented

On the proposal of President Islam Karimov, The Senate of Oliy Majlis passed the decree “on Amnesty in connection with the 19th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistam” on 28 August of this year. This document was yet another vivid demonstration of the reforms in the judicial system aimed at ensuring the rights and interests, such inherent qualities of humanity and generosity.

In order to enforce this ruling, the territorial commission of Namangan region held meetings as well as advocated for timely and effective solution of issues related to the adoption of measures on social adaptation and protection of returnees from places of punishment.

At a meeting in Namangan city, the detailed information about the nature and meaning of amnesty and its procedure was provided. The act of amnesty is applied for 47 individuals who committed the crime out of ignorance and negligence in the period by 25 September this year as well as terminated the criminal cases against 30 persons.

“We are grateful to the President for pardon and opportunity granted in connection with it,” said villager of Bogishamol of Namangan region, a minor Jobirhon Abdurahmonov. “I promise to study hard, learn a profession and with an honest work will justify the confidence in me.”

“I got lost on the way,” said the freed under amnesty Mahbuba Mirzaboeva. “Now I will raise and educate my children only with honestly earned money. Because I realized there is no greater happiness than freedom and life with family and children.” (Source: UzA News Agency)

"Samarkand – a pearl of the Great Silk Road" exhibition in Singapore

The capital of Singapore has hosted an official reception dedicated to the 19th anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan. The reception in Shangri-Law hotel was attended by members of government, parliament and representatives of political, diplomatic and academic circles of Singapore.

The participants of the event were introduced to the photo exhibition "Samarkand – a pearl of Great Silk Road", and a movie about Uzbekistan dedicated to its history, modern socioeconomic development, large opportunities for foreign investors, MFA press service reports.

Opening the photoexhibition, Mr. Heng Chee How, Minister of State of Singapore, noticed that Uzbekistan, located in the crossroads of Asia and Europe, plays key role as a trade and cultural center. His opinion was supported by Teng Theng Dar, CEO of Singapore Business Federation, who paid the attention to the growing interest of Singapore business to projects in Uzbekistan.

"The fact that we held there business-forums jointly with Uzbek colleagues and organized a range of business missions of Singapore entrepreneurs to Tashkent and other regions of your country is a bright illustration of this," pointed out Mr. Teng Theng Dar.

Djoti Narayanasami, Director of English Programs at Management Development Institute of Singapore, elucidated, that at Amir Temur and Mirzo Ulugbek's times Samarkand was a center of science for the whole Central Asia and gathered best scholars.

Nowadays these strong traditions transformed into such programs as "Year of Harmonically Developed Generation". He expressed his confidence that Uzbekistan, under support of the President of Uzbekistan, will make a huge contribution to the development of science and education all over the world.

"Samarkand - a pearl of the Great Silk Road" exhibition represented high-quality photo shots, samples of architecture and illustrations of every day life of ever young Samarkand.

Uzbekistan represented at TOP RESA exhibition in Paris

Paris, Porte de Versailles hosted 32th international tourism trade fair TOP RESA. Every year it gathers over 29,000 visitors - all major actors of the Tourism and Travel industry, including tour operators, cruise and airline companies, tourist boards, services, and technologies.

Uzbekistan's exposition brightly illustrated the potential for the development connected with favourable geographical location, diversity of unique natural objects and rich historical heritage.

For this reason the participation in tourist exhibitions held in France is a huge opportunity for for the promotion of Uzbekistan in the French market.

This year the exhibition was represented by single national stand organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France and Permanent Representation of Uzbekistan at UNESKO under the support of Uzbekturizm national company.

Uzbek tourism was represented by Buyuk Ipak Yuli information agency, Uzbekiston Havo Yollari national airline, Dolores Tour, Sogda Tour, Karavan Travel, El Mundo Tour, Orient Voyages and Sairam Tourism travel agencies.
