40 INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS PRESENTED AT RURAL HOUSING EXHIBITION IN TASHKENT
The specialized exhibition of projects of individual rural housing and construction materials, organized on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, opened in Tashkent on 7 September.
The event is devoted to the Year of Rural Development and Improvement, which was proclaimed in Uzbekistan in 2009.
In the framework of the state program of rural improvement, wide scale work has been launched in the country to radically improve the architectural planning and construction in the regions based on using approved projects of residential housing and social objects.
Besides, measures are being taken to increase the opportunities of the rural people to use systems of drinking water, energy, natural gas, telecommunications, as well as creating conditions for development of entrepreneurship.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev opened the exhibition, organized by the Qishloqqurilishloyiha institute, Qishloq Qurilish Bank, Uzqurilishmateriallari company and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UzA reported.
Among the participants of the exhibition are architects, designers, producers of construction materials and equipment, electrical and home appliances, as well as representatives of all regions of Uzbekistan.
The sections of the forum include residential housing projects, cultural and social objects, roofing, furniture, plastic pipes and fittings, construction equipment and mechanisms, sandwich panels, windows, doors and other materials.
About 40 typical projects of individual housing for rural people are presented at the exhibition. They have been developed using the latest requirements of architecture and design by the recently created Qishloqqurilishloyiha institute, as well as regional departments for architecture and construction.
All projects have been designed with careful consideration of the climatic conditions and landscape of every region, as well as socio-demographic peculiarities.
Qishloq Qurilish Bank, also created recently on the basis of Galla Bank, will provide credits and finance projects of construction of individual housing.
The open pavilions of the exhibition feature several examples of houses built in real size with use of local construction materials, as well as houses built with use of sandwich panels.
The stands demonstrate experimental construction of settlements in Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, Karshi district of Kashkadarya and Bulakbashi district of Andijan region.
The participants may also get acquainted with designs of neighborhoods for 42 villages, which are planned to be built in the regions of Uzbekistan.
SURKHON-TERMIZ-SILK COMPANY LAUNCHED
Cocoon processing enterprise Surkhon-Termiz-Silk opened in Termez.
The company, which has a capacity to process 400 tons of cocoons per year, produces silk thread, National News Agency UzA reported.
The enterprise employing 250 people plans exporting produce worth USD 2 million every year.
According to Tura Bobolov, head of Surkhandarya regional department of the Commerce and industry chamber of Uzbekistan, in 2009 more than 20 enterprises were launched in the region.
Besides, about 10 small enterprises are currently being created in the villages, which will process meat and milk, as well as fruit and grapes.
GAS SUPPLY IMPROVING IN JIZZAKH
Jizzakhgaztaminot company is completing the work to prepare the system of gas supply and distribution as well as other engineering constructions to the autumn-winter season.
According to the company, 15 km of gas pipelines will be renewed and 10 km of gas supply systems will be reconstructed, UzA reported.
To date, almost 80% of the planned work ahs been completed. In particular, technical check of 3,375 gas distribution points was held and 12 of them were fully renewed.
“Defects in pipes can often be a cause for the reduction of gas pressure in some districts,” chief engineer of Jizzakhgaztaminot Erkin Imomov said.
“To prevent such cases, we checked the gas supply system in all districts, including 112.5 km of gas supply systems, and eliminated all problems.”

NEW MEDICAL CENTER IN KHOREZM REGION
Multi purpose medical center in Khorezm region, Urgench branch of the Republican scientific center for emergency medical assistance, Republican specialized centers for urology and ophthalmology are equipped according to international standards.
These medical institutions have all conditions for the providing of quality health services.
Recently, Urgench branch of the Republican Specialized Center of Cardiology was renovated and converted into a modern cardiology center clinic for cardiovascular diseases. There are all conditions for the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases of the heart, vessels and practical application of the latest cardiac treatments. Personnel employed in the center have improved their skills in the Republican Specialized Center of Cardiology.
PRESS HOUSE FOR JOURNALISTS, NEWS AGENCIES OPENS IN NAVOI
A new Press house, where the local newspapers and correspondents of national papers and news agencies will work, opened in Navoi.
The building is decorated in oriental style and was raised in a short period of time by Temur Malik company.
The house has been provided with the modern equipment and has all conditions for the efficient work of the journalists.
Apart from them, it will also accommodate the regional departments of the Press and information agency and the Journalists' creative union.
At present, construction of the new typography is nearing completion at the Press house.
By the year-end, the typography will receive new equipment, which will allow publishing newspapers and other publications in color.
The head of the Navoi regional administration Erkinjon Turdimov participated in the opening of the Press house, according to UzA.
SUCCESS OF MASTERS FROM UZBEKISTAN
Rewarding the creative work of Viacheslav Useinov with gold medal at an international exhibition organized on the eve of the XXIX Olympic Games in China, as well as master classes on woodcarving of national master of Uzbekistan Sirozhiddin Rakhmatullaev at the Art Institute of Malaysia clearly demonstrate the importance of ever-strengthening international ties of artists from Uzbekistan.
Master and craftsmen, artists, art historians, instructors and students participated in the event held in this regard in the central exhibition hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The President of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan T. Kuziev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China in our country Yu Hongjun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan Abdulaziz bin Khorun noted that during the years of independence, Uzbekistan has carried out extensive work to enhance the spirituality and development of national culture and art, renaissance, and respect for centuries-old traditions and values.
The work of V. Useinov «Topography of silk flowers» participated at the international exhibition held in the XXIX Olympic Games, where the works from almost a hundred countries were presented. The work is devoted to the actual topic of promoting sports games that have grown through the ancient Silk Road.
Works of V. Useinov were awarded first place in 2005 in the international Biennale, they are collected in museums, galleries and private collections in the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Austria and Israel.
V. Useinov was awarded the golden medal in the event.
Tashkent wood carvings master S. Rakhmatullaev actively participated in the restoration, decoration and restoration of historical and architectural monuments of Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench, Khiva and Tashkent. His works are distinguished by a special skill and elegance, and turned to the ancient traditions and styles. S. Rakhmatullaev held a cycle of master classes for students, art historians and colleagues at the Art Institute of Malaysia, focusing on the Tashkent school of woodcarving.
