KARL BLECHA SAYS UZBEK-AUSTRIAN COOPERATION HAS GREAT FUTURE
Austrian politician Karl Blecha visited Uzbekistan and he shared with its impressions on the result of the visit with Circle diplomatique magazine, Jahon Information Agency reported.
Karl Blecha said he visited Uzbekistan 14 years ago and changes in the country, carried out in pas period, are impressive.
Austrian politician noted hospitability and cordiality of the Uzbek people, who always meet gusts with openness and kindness.
Karl Blecha said Uzbekistan is multinational state, where people with various nationality and confession live in peace and consent. He said he liked historic cities of Uzbekistan, in particular, Khiva. He said ancient cities of Uzbekistan were preserved well despite their age.
Austrian politician said there is great potential on development and deepening of bilateral cooperation, including in tourism. He said during his visit, he discussed opening of regular flight between Uzbekistan and Austria with officials of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Uzbektourism.
Uzbekistan is very important partner for Austria, he said. He added that the sides could successfully cooperation in machinery, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.

UZBEKISTAN TO INCREASE PRODUCTION OF BRICKS AND WALLING
President Islam Karimov signed a resolution on 19 June 2009 on stimulating the increase of production and improvement of the quality of walling.
The document is aimed at creation of new and modernization of the existing enterprises, introduction of modern power saving technologies for reducing the cost of production and final product, and thus satisfying the local demand in walling, National News Agency UzA reported.
The head of the state approved the Program of creation of new facilities to produce baked bricks for 2009-2011. The program envisages modernization of existing baked brick producing companies through introduction of special energy and resource saving technologies until 1 January 2010.
Besides, the program foresees introduction of modern industrial technologies of construction on the basis of alternative walling materials, including precast, composite and building block constructions.
The resolution introduces a number of preferences for the baked brick producers until 1 January 2012, including preferential credits of the banks for modernization of production.
EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF STATE PROPERTY CONSIDERED
The State property committee of Uzbekistan held a press conference on the issues of increasing the efficiency of management of the state property.
Vice chairman of the committee A.Daliyev said the stabile and heterogeneous economy has helped increase the potential of the private sector. At the same time, processes of effective management of the state property have been deepening.
The state as a main reformer is solving the key task of increasing the industrial potential of the enterprises through introduction of modern and efficient technologies. This leads to creation of new workplaces, larger production volumes and growing exports.
Today, there are about 25,000 enterprises with the state share in Uzbekistan. In 215 companies, the state property is managed by professional management teams. The management of the state property is also carried out by local authorities and the State property committee.
In accordance with the President’s decree of 18 November 2008, the joint-stock companies are increasing their charter capitals. The goal is to create large and stable companies with effective mechanism of corporate management and internal audit.
The increase of the capitalization and financial stability of the real sector enterprises envisage attraction of investments, including those of the commercial banks.
To date, thanks to attraction of investments, part of the enterprises with the state share has got rid of the losses and created a total of more than 3,000 new workplaces.
UZBEKTELECOM HOLDS SHAREHOLDERS' MEETING
The meeting of the shareholders of the national telecom operator Uzbektelecom considered the results of the company’s activity in 2008.
Uzbektelecom director-general Shuhrat Sadikov said the company preserved stable growth rates last year. The income from the main activity made up UZS 237.5 billion, which is 34% more than in 2007.
The company implemented a number of large projects in the reporting year. In particular, it completed projects of expansion of CDMA-40 network, modernization of Tashkent city’s local telecommunications network with use of NGN technology, and reconstruction of commutation networks in Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions.
Fiber optic communication line with the total length of 367.5 km was laid in the direction Karshi-Termez.
Uzbektelecom conducted works to expand the bandwidth of the international internet channel, which reached 819 Mbps by the year-end.
The company has 19 branches across the country. Its local telecommunication network consists of over 2,000 automated telephone stations with a capacity of more than 1.9 million numbers, of which 88.8% are digital.

MASTERING THE TECHNOLOGY IN INNOVATIONS REGISTRY
The necessity in such training emerged due to the introduction of statistical reporting about innovation activity in organizations and enterprises in the country.
The year 2008 has already been summed up by the present time, impartial assessment of the process of innovations introduction into various sectors has been done for the first time, and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers directed to creation of conditions for further introduction of the headmost technologies into manufacturing was adopted. “In spite of the fact that all forms contain corresponding elucidation, instructions on innovation reporting are placed in all legal information systems of the country and in the internet, a new study plays an important role in rising the statistician’s work quality,” Elena Kiyakina, head of the administration of the State Statistics Committee thinks. “The more qualified the specialist, the more accessible will be his answers to requests by representatives from organizations and enterprises to provide data. As a result, the country gains more detailed and precise information on innovation introduction process in various sectors.”
TRAINING CENTERS FOR PEDIATRICIANS
Two training centers for doctors of maternity and children protection service open in Syrdarya region.
One was created in the children diversified medical center and the other – in the perinatal center. The presentation of the venues was held within the framework of the seminar in Gulistan devoted to issues of maternity and children protection. The training centers are to improve professional level of specialists. They possess the information resource base includes tutorials and normative and legal documents.
MUSIC EXCITING THE HEARTS
A symphonic orchestra concert took place in the Grand Hall of the State Conservatoire of Uzbekistan. Students of the Glier Special Music Academic Lyceum (SMAL) and pupils of Djahongir Ibragimov, professor, a distinguished mentor of Uzbekistan, performed a solo at the venue.
The concert program included works in different styles and genres, masterpieces of the world’s classics. Violoncello concert with orchestra by I. S. Bach, D. Shostakovich, E. Lalo as well as Violoncello capriccio with orchestra by G. Golterman, the “la” string introduction by N. Paganini, were among them.
Surprising heartfelt music masterly performed by soloists to the accompaniment of the National symphonic orchestra under the guidance of Zakhid Khaknazarov, professor, People’s artist of Uzbekistan, captivated with its every sound exciting the most concealed strings of the soul. Sunnat Ibragimov, Dilshod Narzullaev, Mansur Kadyrov, Javokhir Ochilov - cellists, laureates of national and international contests convened for the performance mastery here having demonstrated the excellent training and high technical level.
This day, not as usual the hall was overfilled with the music art amateurs. The numerous spectators warmly welcomed the performers awarding them with a storm of applause. Colleagues, teachers from other educational institutions noted the splendid and diverse concert program and wonderful performance of musicians.
“The concert demonstrated a quite high professional level which is the merit of Djahongir Ibragimov, the Glier SMAL’s teacher who dedicated over fourty years to teaching children the music,” Olga Borisova, the national symphonic orchestra administrator stated.
At present, over 820 children and adolescents from all regions of the country study at the Glier Lyceum. 160 teachers, well known figures of art and people’s artists help them with cognition of music art foundations and secrets. Thanks to the persistent work and intensive study, the lyceum students brilliantly represent the republic’s music art abroad. Time and again they become laureates of the most prestigious international festivals and contests.
Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan, Ismail Jalilov National symphonic orchestra with participation of the State Conservatoire, acted as concert organizers.
