Water Supply Gets Bettered in Andijan Villages - Report

As a part of the Year of development and improvement of countryside State Program the water supply has been improved at the village of Imamota in Khojaobod District of Andijan Province.

According to such report by the Uzbekistan National News Agency, before the villagers used the spring water and irrigated their crops.

For over the last years the villagers suffered from lack of water. Therefore indeed, according to the report, with an aim of effectively using the water reserves of the Chilustun Lake, which lays at an altitude of one thousand meters above sea level, massive construction works have been undertaken at the area.

In particular, the constructors have worked out the project of the new channel with spans for 2600 meters. The water pipeline of up to 26 kilometers has been laid through the mountain pass.

As a result, the water supply has been bettered at several makhallas and 600 hectares of crops. This promotes further improvement of the foothill areas, according to the report.
