Local Farmer in Jizzakh Launches Vegetable Oil Production

The group of entrepreneurs at the Semurg farm in Pakhtakor District of Jizzakh Province has launched production of four types of vegetable oil, the Pravda Vostoka newspaper wrote January 22.

According to the newspaper, M.Suvonkulov, the local farmer, built the plant corps and installed the modern equipment on the territory of the formerly bankrupt organization in the district.

“Thanks to the loan worth 134,000 dollars that I have received from the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan I had been able to successfully implement the idea,” Mr. Suvonkulov said.

Also, thanks to the good ties of the farmer with Russian businessmen the needed equipment has been timely delivered to Pakhtakor District and the plant has been commissioned with the help of foreign specialists, according to the newspaper report.

This year the farmer is going to sow the oil-yielding crops at an area of about 300 hectares of land, and also take the raw for processing from other farms.

Given the project capacity of six tons of goods the enterprise, which has employed 17 people, produces one ton of sesame oil, 2,5 tons of sunflower oil and 1,5 tons of soybean oil per day. The end product is of high quality which is being possible thanks to the use of the latest technological processes, in keeping with the newspaper report.
