Within Business Partnership

ADB ranks first among the international financial institutions by the volume of acting lending portfolio in Uzbekistan.

During 15 years of cooperation ADB allocated $1170.9 million to Uzbekistan for the implementation of 25 projects.

Numerous projects in spheres of transport infrastructure, energy sector, agriculture and municipal engineering, small and private business as well as higher, secondary and professional education were carried out in our country in collaboration with ADB.

The purposefulness and forwardness of the partnership is clearly observed in the phasing of implementing projects.

The cooperation between Uzbekistan and ADB is also developing in the network of multilateral relations. The direction of the bank coordinates the activity of other international financial establishments in sphere of the development of regional cooperation in Central Asia in such priority directions as energy sector, commerce and transport infrastructure.

It is expected that on the 43th Annual meeting of ADB which will take place in Tashkent in 1-4 of May 2010 will be discussed the progress achieved within the long-term strategic program of ADB adopted in 2008. During the meeting it will be also examined other themes including the reformation of global financial system, post-crisis development of Asian countries, the climate changing etc.

In future, cooperation in the sphere of development of railway system and motor roads as well as the activation of the work on the perfection of the water supply system in the regions of the country is to be established between Uzbekistan and ADB.
